From BostonHerald.Com: Bob Dylan should write all of Miley Cyrus’ songs. Miley’s version of “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” is awesome. Cyrus’ wounded twang over back-porch pickin’ turns the song into the best country ballad of the young decade — although it’s weird to hear Hannah Montana refer to 19th century French poet Arthur Rimbaud. This is the power of Dylan (and, begrudgingly admitted, Miley’s pipes).
The songs that stiff do so because the artist doesn’t connect to the spirit of the song — Michael Franti (“Subterranean Homesick Blues”) and Seal (“Like a Rolling Stone”) ignorantly scrub clean Dylan’s grit and splash around in the shallows in deep compositions. But most manage to connect to these iconic songs. When a project can elicit angst in a Disney tween queen, you know you’re on to something.

From Bettyconfidential.com: This collection of brilliant performances reflects the interpretation of Dylan’s songs by every generation of musician, every style, by men, women and children (Sorry no singing animals, although we tried.) from Pete Seeger at 92 singing Forever Young (the obvious choice) to Miley Cyrus at 19, raised on Dylan albums played in her home, channeling her godmother Dolly Parton with a touching version of You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.

From Hollywoood.Com: Miley Cyrus may be known for her hit songs like “The Climb” and “Party in the U.S.A.,” but it’s her latest song that truly shows you what a great singer she actually is. The songstress recently released her music video for a cover of Bob Dylan’s classic song, “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” and it’s actually pretty impressive. In the video, Cyrus is sitting on a stool in the middle of an abandoned house, simply belting out the well-known lyrics. It’s plain, it’s simple — it’s smart. When you’re working with lyrics such as these you wouldn’t want a bunch of aesthetics distracting you from the greatness of the song and it’s nice Cyrus realizes that. Not everything has to be eye-catching to be memorable.
Now I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the world’s biggest Miley fan, but she definitely has a great, natural voice and deserves props for putting this together. Look out guys, Cyrus is making a comeback in a big (non-Disney) type way. Check out the full video and see for yourself!

From PopCrush.Com: Miley Cyrus has released a video for ’You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go,’ her contribution to the Bob Dylan tribute album ‘Chimes of Freedom.’ The simple video features nothing more than shots of the singer, her band and their instruments, putting the focus right where Dylan would want it — on the song itself. The no frills video fits the low-key song, which features only Miley’s voice alongside a couple of guitars and gently brushed drums. Cyrus dresses down in a sleeveless vest and ripped jeans, crooning the mournful ballad while a guitarist sits next to her in an otherwise empty room.
The subdued video shows fans a new side of the young singer. It’s a completely different kind of party in the U.S.A. when Cyrus sings, “I’ll look for you in old Honolulu / San Francisco, Ashtabula / You’re gonna have to leave me now, I know / I’ll see you in the sky above / In the tall grass, in the ones I love / You’re gonna make me lonesome when you go.” It’s safe to say many Dylan fans were skeptical when they saw Miley’s name on the tracklisting for ‘Chimes of Freedom,’ but the song and video are a worthy tribute to the rock & roll legend.
‘Chimes of Freedom,’ a 4-CD set featuring Maroon 5, Lenny Kravitz, Kesha, Darren Criss, and dozens of others, hits retailers tomorrow, Feb. 24.

From HuffingtonPost.Com: Okay guys, it’s offical — Miley Cyrus is all grown up. In the “Can’t Be Tamed” singer’s most mature move yet, she performs heartfelt, country-twinged rendition of the classic song by folk legend Bob Dylan “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.”The accompanying music video, which was released this morning on Miley’s website and Amnesty International’s Facebook page, shows a softer side of the singer.
Featuring Johnzo West, the single appears on the album Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International. And Miley is in good company — some of our other favorite performers are also making an appearance on the album, like Darren Criss, who covers “New Morning” with his brother Chuck Criss. Adele also performs a cover of “Make You Feel My Love” and Ke$ha sings “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright.”
Miley’s new video reminded us how much we love a good cover song, so we’ve put together a slideshow of some of our all-time favorites, including Keke Palmer’s new Michael jackson cover from Joyful Noise, and, duh, Selena Gomez’s super-awesome “Super Bass” cover.
